TAURANGA HOSPITAL

Jacaranda House was a five storey nursing school block + basement constructed of concrete columns and beams including concrete panels situated on the eastern boundary of the Tauranga hospital. This building had a 490m² foot print which contained various amounts of known and unknown asbestos including asbestos removal that had previously been done, but was not up to standards. Air tests were carried out by DHB contractors to meet deemed safe air. All contaminated asbestos was dumped at a registered landfill with all proof fully disclosed to the consultant.
